Eco-friendly weddings make less of an impact on the environment because they avoid things that are unnecessary. Your wedding can be a sleek and stylish way to leave a smaller footprint on the Earth while still having a glorious celebration.

Staying green does not mean that you have to sacrifice any part of your wedding. In fact, it actually means that you will have more grace and beauty by loving Mother Earth. Everything, including your dress, the invitations, your flowers and your venue, can be eco-friendly.

Our suggestions to make your Big Day greener include:

• Location: a central venue that’s close to your guests
• Flowers: locally sourced and in-season
• Catering: local, in-season and ideally organic
• Favours: preferably handmade, sourced from local, independent businesses
